The premise

Here’s the bit.

In this stop-motion segment, Little Nestor is out trick-or-treating with his father, who stops at the home of a man just let out of prison. Nestor keeps trying to object, but his upbeat dad brushes off every worry, insists Halloween is supposed to be fun, and recalls how much candy he used to collect at Nestor's age. Pushed to the door one 'go ahead' at a time, Nestor finally rings the bell, and a pair of monstrous hands drags him inside before something grisly is dropped back on the stoop, all capped by the segment's chirpy theme song.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

But, Father, isn't this where the crazy guy who just got out of prison lives?

Now, Nestor, just because somebody's been in prison doesn't make him crazy.

Why, when I was your age, I'd have three full sacks of candy by now.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Lil' Nestor returned later in season 4 for an ice-skating installment (episode 19, March 1999).

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
