The premise
Here’s the bit.
Craig is on the phone outside his brownstone confirming that his record deal is really happening when Dwayne Washington, his self-described boy from Ramsey Junior High, rushes over to congratulate him and make sure he will stay true to his roots. More well-wishers follow, each claiming some connection, from a woman's cousin to a man who calls him his favorite Craig, though Craig insists he does not know them and is promptly accused of having changed. The crowd swells into a celebrating street parade of hangers-on, including an older operator offering his girls, video vixens and a friend who answers Craig's phone for him. At the ATM the phone is handed over once more, and the news is that the deal has fallen through. Craig thanks everyone and apologizes, and the entourage disappears in an instant, leaving him alone on an empty street.
