The premise

Here’s the bit.

From a candle-lit armchair, Vincenzo Larfoff relishes the legend of the pharaoh's curse: Howard Carter opens Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, Lord Carnarvon drops dead, Cairo plunges into darkness and a dog howls back in England. Each eerie detail is then deflated by the mundane explanation, from a mosquito bite and unreliable wiring to Carter living for years afterwards. Disgusted that the tale is not a real ghost story, Larfoff abandons the show and walks off with his costume.

Highly quotable.

As we all know, nothing is more frightening than mummy. Go and tidy your room!

He died! Years later, of completely natural causes.

I'm off. And I'm keeping the jacket.

A little extra
