HHTV News: The Catholic Report
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Studio presenter Sam hands over to Bob Hale for an explanation of England’s break with the Catholic Church. Bob starts with Henry VIII’s desire for a divorce, then uses animated maps and an increasingly busy religion meter to follow the rulers who repeatedly change the country’s allegiance. His delivery grows more frantic as the report runs through the Tudors and Stuarts, civil war and the return of the monarchy. By the time he finishes tracing the back-and-forth, the swinging display has left Sam mesmerized at the news desk.
