You're tuned to the good stuff
Live and Cooking
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
On Asian Children's BBC, presenters Chippy and Fanny open Live and Cooking by advising their young viewers to postpone fun until they have finished their studies, found a good job, married and seen their own children leave home. A visit to Computer Corner finds bespectacled resident cyberpunk Dumpy thrilled by the latest software release, which turns out to be a spreadsheet, and praised for not reviewing any games. When the costumed Uncle Blobinder bounds into the studio, Chippy makes him take off the head and lectures him on whether this is any job for a respectable Indian boy, until even the studio audience turns on him.

Is this any kind of job for a respectable Indian boy?

Now we're over to Computer Corner, where we're going to check out the latest software releases with our resident cyberpunk, Dumpy! Wow, mega graphics, Dumpy! What piece of virtual hilarity are you playing?
- 00:57
Dumpy
Well, I'm checking out the hottest new software on the market. It's an updated version of an old classic, and it's mega fast with state-of-the-art bitmap imaging.

OK, kids. Don't forget, later on in the programme, we've got Pop Sensation 5 coming up, and we'll be asking them what respectable jobs they're going to do when they grow up. You can phone in on...

Fanny Kumar
Watch out, Chippy. Look who's coming.
- 01:34
Chippy Sundaralingam ?
Who?
- 01:34
Fanny Kumar ?
Uncle Blobinder.
- 01:43
Chippy Sundaralingam ?
No, don't do this. No, it's not a respectable thing to do. No, no, get off, get off.
- 01:50
Chippy Sundaralingam
Take that thing off. This is not you. You, take that head off. Ah, let your mother see you. Is this any kind of job for a respectable Indian boy? You see, kids, this is what happens when you watch television all day and you don't do your homework.
- 02:12
Uncle Blobinder ?
Don't give us a break. I'm just trying to earn a living.
- 02:14
Chippy Sundaralingam ?
Will you knock off that stupid voice?
- 02:17
Uncle Blobinder ?
What stupid voice?
- 02:19

Nobody thinks that you're funny.
