The premise
Here’s the bit.
Bill and Susan admire Alan and Fran’s new baby and thank them for choosing them as godparents. A remark about the infant’s size punctures the polite conversation, prompting both couples to attack each other’s children, marriages and behavior. Their insults grow nastier even as they keep their voices low beside the pram. The visitors finally storm out, leaving the parents to reassure each other that their former friends’ opinions can be dismissed.
