The premise

Here’s the bit.

Alone in his gaslit laboratory, Dr. Jekyll carefully distils a dark red potion and drinks it to a swelling, ominous score. He throws back his head, gurns and convulses, and his hands clench into claws before his fingers break into a frantic little tabletop dance. Just as the horror seems to peak, the fit subsides and the doctor calmly considers the drink's flavour, the whole terrible transformation reduced to a pun on his famous alter ego.
