The premise

Here’s the bit.

Jolene interviews Daisy for an important programming job, but the résumé lists no relevant experience or education, only her parents' assurances that she can be anything and is amazing, cited as her references. Unsure, Jolene calls in her colleague Marika, who decides the parental endorsement settles it, and Daisy is hired on the spot. Jolene then turns to the older couple who have been sitting in on the meeting, her own mom and dad, to ask how she did, and they gush that she was amazing.
