Set in Savannah, Georgia in 1848, this sketch takes place at a slave auction. Two enslaved men (played by Key and Peele) stand on auction blocks B and C respectively, while slaves on block A keep getting sold quickly to plantation owners. As they are continually passed over, the two men become increasingly agitated and baffled about why they're not attracting buyers, with their initial stoicism yielding to indignation. The sketch uses dark comedy and absurdist humor to satirize the horrific reality of slavery and racial dynamics, undercutting the searing tragedy of human bondage with biting satire.
