A little backstory.
Ernie Kovacs was an American comedian, actor and writer whose visual, experimental television comedy influenced many later sketch shows. His programs on several networks in the 1950s and early 1960s featured characters such as the lisping poet Percy Dovetonsils and the horror storyteller Uncle Gruesome.
