The premise

Here’s the bit.

Philip shows Theresa a photo of her new Madame Tussauds waxwork and jokes that it could have been placed beside Donald Trump, whom she now has to Skype about his trip to Britain. Calling from his plane during an Asian tour, Trump brags about golf and hamburgers, still expects a gold carriage and a meeting with the Duchess of Cambridge on what has been downgraded to a working visit, and asks whether she is wearing a wire before brushing off indicted aides and even his own daughter as low-level helpers. Theresa finally recites her firm list of demands, instantly worries she went too far and pleads for a trade deal, but Trump admits he was busy tweeting, mixes her up with Fox News and fumbles to end the call, leaving her calling for a stiff drink.

The funny people

Meet the cast. 3

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Papadopoulos was very low level. I hardly knew Manafort, didn't even realise he was my campaign manager or long-term friend.

I hope I didn't go too far. Did I go too far? Please, can we still have a trade deal?

I wasn't listening. I was doing a tweet about how we should kill all of America's judges, even the ones from America's Got Talent.

    Philip May

Here we go. See? You look relaxed and natural there.

  2. 00:03

    Theresa May

Philip, that's a Madame Tussauds waxwork. The real me would never be standing next to Boris and smiling.

  3. 00:09

    Philip May

Could be worse. They could have put you next to Trump.

  4. 00:11

    Theresa May

Oh, Philip, it's not funny. I have to Skype him now and discuss the arrangements.

  5. 00:17

    Philip May

Has anyone actually told Trump that his royal visit's no longer royal?

  6. 00:21

    Theresa May

Well, I'll add it to my list of things I need to speak firmly to him about. Now, which button? This. This one. Oh, no, he's not there. Never mind. I'll try next month.

  7. 00:32

    Theresa May ?

    Hello? Ooh.

  8. 00:35

    Theresa May

    How are you, Mr President?

  9. 00:38

    Donald Trump

I'm in another country. It's called Asia. It's really exotic and different.

  10. 00:44

    Theresa May

    What have you been doing?

  11. 00:46

    Donald Trump

Playing golf and eating hamburgers. Can I have those on my royal visit to England land?

  12. 00:51

    Theresa May

Actually, your trip's been, um, adjusted to a working visit.

  13. 00:56

    Donald Trump

But I still get to ride in a gold carriage, right? And I want to meet Duchess Kate, but not if she's still carrying baby fat. I have high standards. The highest.

  14. 01:06

    Theresa May

Donald, there's some things I really need to speak to you about.

  15. 01:10

    Donald Trump

First, I have a question, and it's a very normal question. Are you wearing a wire?

  16. 01:16

    Theresa May

No, I'm not wearing a wire.

  17. 01:18

    Donald Trump

Good. Although I got nothing to worry about. Papadopoulos was very low level, I hardly knew Manafort, didn't even realise he was my campaign manager or long-term friend.

  18. 01:29

    Theresa May ?

    I see.

  19. 01:30

    Donald Trump

All these people are low-level. Take Ivanka. She's a low-level volunteer daughter from an old wife who I fired before the campaign. A campaign I did not know much about. I left that all to the Russians.

  20. 01:44

    Theresa May

Look, I have some things to say to you, and I intend to say them. Er... When you come here, I insist you don't grab anyone Anyone by the you-know-what link moped crime to Islamic terrorism or threaten nuclear wars that may or may not incinerate the Northern Hemisphere. There, I've said it, and we can tell the press that I stood up to you and that I'm strong, which I am. I hope I didn't go too far. Did I go too far? Please, can we still have a trade deal?

  21. 02:13

    Donald Trump

What was that? I wasn't listening. I was doing a tweet about how we should kill all of America's judges, even the ones from America's Got Talent right

  22. 02:24

    Theresa May

well it's always good to talk to you

  23. 02:26

    Donald Trump

Teresa it's always good to be on Fox News

  24. 02:30

    Theresa May
