The premise
Here’s the bit.
Outside a cave, Richard Pryor's caveman fusses over bones, rocks and kindling while the rest of the tribe lounges nearby and laughs at his efforts. After a long, wordless struggle he gets a small fire going and proudly holds up a burning stick, sending the startled cave-dwellers scrambling in fear. A caption skips ahead to sometime later: the inventor is now tied to a stake above a blazing bonfire while the tribe celebrates around him.
