The premise

Here’s the bit.

Struggling author Donald Dane finishes his first thriller and nervously hands it to his partner, who is genuinely terrified when she turns the title page and finds just one shouted word. The one-page scare becomes a runaway bestseller, complete with book signings and soaring sales charts. Fretting that his second book must prove the first was no fluke, Donald hammers out a follow-up built on another cheap fright, and the new title promptly sends readers everywhere into panicked flailing, including one unlucky driver listening to the audiobook.
