The Dreamer
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Played without dialogue over the closing credits, Benny Hill's hitch-hiker beds down for the night on the bench of a roadside shelter at the edge of the woods. In his dream he wanders out to an enormous old tree, where a figure in a dark cloak drops it to reveal a beautiful brunette in a bikini, and the two stroll hand in hand around the trunk into a passionate embrace, until he wakes up smothering his rolled-up sleeping bag with kisses. Setting off the next morning, he finds a hooded figure waiting by the same tree, but when the hood comes off she is an elderly woman who chases him across the park, past the girl from his dream standing by the trunk.
