The premise

Here’s the bit.

Kevin Armstrong's mother tells a documentary crew how hard everyday life is for her 12-year-old son, who has a second bottom instead of a face. As she helps him dress for school, helps him up a flight of steps and walks him through town past passers-by and teenagers taking photos on their phones, an unseen narrator promises an uplifting story of courage, then keeps conceding that the audience mainly wants a good look at him. The trailer ends with Kevin pressing a model plane to his face and a promise of plenty of revealing pictures this Sunday on Five.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

The uplifting story of one boy's extraordinary bravery, as if that's what you're interested in, rather than the fact that he's got an arse for a face.

A good old stare at the freak in a way you can tell yourself is sort of OK.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

David Mitchell voices the unseen narrator. This is the first of three Sensitive Freakshows trailers in Series 2; the next two feature a woman with a second head (Episode 2) and a man with 19 penises (Episode 3).
