Small Talk
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Raymond Terrific opens his studio discussion programme in a new guise, Small Talk, a format experiment he makes clear he opposed: instead of experts, his guests are some of the most superficial people in public life and the topics are deliberately trivial. He introduces each panellist with a withering summary of how they became famous, from a reality-show contestant to a former footballer jailed for racism who now runs a nightclub, while a person in a lion costume sits silently at the end of the table. Anita describes herself as deeply spiritual and explains that she unwinds in a candlelit bath, Tony settles on his favourite flavour of crisps, and Raymond's composure cracks. When he presses Anita on which crisp is objectively the best, he is ordered to stop because the conversation has become slightly too weighty, and the hairdresser Zack Chancery, known only for a name that sounds like a font, answers his question about his day in a single word. Raymond closes by bitterly predicting an even more degrading stunt for his next charity appearance and apologising to the viewers.

I'm being told that that talk is actually marginally too big.
You are a hairdresser who first came to the public's attention for having a name a bit like a font.

Well, that's all from Smalltalk. For next year's Children In Need, hopefully they'll just get me to sit in a bath of pot noodle or cut my cock off or something. In the meantime, sorry and goodnight.
