The First Guy To Ever Have A Name
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A man carrying a box needs to ask two men on a sofa where it belongs, but calling everyone a person leaves all three answering at once. Pointing, clothing descriptions and directions barely help, so he proposes giving each person a distinctive sound. The pair complicate every rule: ordinary words make poor names, choosing the same first name defeats the plan, and inherited surnames cannot separate brothers. An occupational surname seems to solve the problem until both brothers reveal the same lack of an occupation.
