The premise

Here’s the bit.

Two days after the 2008 presidential election, Conan proposes a look into the future with Sarah Silverman, and the pair reappear in dark robes and studded collars, lit from below by flashlights, while La Bamba croons the title chant between predictions. They alternate forecasts about the outgoing Bush administration, Barack Obama's transition, Sarah Palin's children, beef marketing, fast food and Larry King's age, with Silverman's turns veering into deliberately tasteless territory. Near the end Silverman predicts that Conan will discover an embarrassing truth about his own bathroom habits, and a flustered Conan breaks off to defend himself to the audience before the bit closes on a final prediction that gets bleeped.

Highly quotable.

Beef. Get in the van and don't ask any questions.

Only God will see it, so only God will laugh.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Andy Richter originally traded predictions with Conan in this recurring sketch. After he left Late Night, the evening's celebrity guest took his place, and those installments were titled as editions named after the guest.

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
