The premise

Here’s the bit.

A flight attendant asks Conrad to change seats so a mother and child can sit together. His new Economy Plus seat inspires wonder at the extra legroom, the captain’s jokes and an already handled shopping magazine. His enthusiasm survives a painful fantasy about a massage chair and a much stranger sight outside the airplane window.

Highly quotable.

Carry on yourself, Alex.

I stand corrected.

Extra foot room. One inch at least.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The traveler returns from Continental Breakfast. The ending echoes the airplane-window creature in The Twilight Zone’s Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
