Grape Stomping
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Ricky comes back to the Rome hotel expecting to find Lucy, because the film director Vittorio Felipe is on his way over, but Ethel is evasive and keeps echoing his questions until she admits Lucy has gone off to absorb local color for her part in the film Bitter Grapes. Ricky protests that he never meant to keep her out of the picture. Out at a village vineyard, a worn-out Lucy tries to climb out of the wine vat, but her fellow stomper Teresa yanks her back to work. One shove topples Teresa into the crushed fruit, and the two women end up wrestling, ducking and pelting each other with handfuls of grapes until both are drenched in juice.
