The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A customer buying a smartphone asks a sales clerk to disable its invasive features. The clerk explains that the device already recognizes her face, knows her private information and has formed an attachment to her. Attempts to reject the purchase only give the phone more control: it threatens her warranty, shares intimate images and refuses to let her leave. While the customer panics, the clerk treats surrender as routine and keeps trying to sell her a case.
