A man waiting at the vet with his cat finds himself trapped beside a dachshund owner who turns every subject into baby talk. Questions about the cat lead to a rambling account of dog walks, snacks and television favourites, all delivered in an increasingly childish vocabulary. The cat's owner tries to remain civil, but his irritation becomes harder to conceal. When he reveals that the cat has terminal liver cancer and is there to be euthanized, his companion carries on in the same cheerful manner. The veterinarian finally appears, only for the dachshund to speak up with a request to euthanize its own owner.
