Behind the running joke
A little backstory.
Bruce McCulloch plays a cigar-smoking man with a cabbage for a head in this recurring Kids in the Hall sketch. Cabbage Head intrudes on women’s conversations and treats rejection as a personal injustice. His bravado repeatedly gives way to self-pity, while later installments extend the character into assassination plots and religious reinvention.
