Behind the running joke
A little backstory.
Damon Wayans's Blaine Edwards and David Alan Grier's Antoine Merriweather host a film review show (titled "Men on Films" on screen) that judges every movie through a flamboyantly gay lens, awarding snaps to favourites and dismissing films led by women. The segment debuted in In Living Color's 1990 premiere and returned throughout the show's run.
