Behind the running joke
A little backstory.
Famous historical figures pitch films about their lives to a panel of three Hollywood producers, played by League of Gentlemen members Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, who mock them, get distracted and ignore the real history. The format borrows from Orange's cinema mobile-phone reminders and ran from Series 4 onward.
