The person behind the punchline
A little backstory.
Rock Hudson was an American film and television actor who became one of Hollywood's leading men in the 1950s and 1960s, starring in dramas such as Giant and romantic comedies such as Pillow Talk. He later headlined the NBC mystery series McMillan & Wife. His 1985 death from AIDS-related illness made him one of the first major celebrities publicly known to have the disease.
