Late Night Dog Poker
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Banished from snooker to a late-night slot on Dave, boozy commentators Ted and Peter sit at their desk in dog costumes to introduce Late Night Dog Poker, a show they admit is an experiment. Ted hands the technical side to Peter as the supposed poker expert, then needles him about his lack of winnings, while the cameras cut to a table of real dogs and a woman in a poodle costume. Neither man can say whose money the dogs are betting or how the game works, and they end the segment wishing they were back at the Crucible.

Highly quotable.
Late night dog poker. Rejected by the BBC, chosen by Dave.

Notes from the archive.
The British Comedy Guide lists Ted and Peter's Late Night Dog Poker in three parts across Series 4 Episode 2; this is Part 1, the episode's opening sketch. By Series 4 the former snooker commentators had been reduced to covering dog poker on Dave.
