Babies are full of pure potential!
Dirt is the foundation of all agriculture!
You have become like a good, nurturing mother to us, sir!
At boot camp, a drill sergeant tries to break in three new recruits, but each refuses to hear his abuse as abuse. One points out that the strongest people he knows are the women in his family, so being called a lady is an honor; another argues that babies are full of potential, and a third admires how hardy maggots are. Every barked order to drop for push-ups is met with sincere gratitude, and when dirt and scum get the same cheerful treatment, the sergeant's frustration gives way to self-doubt. Once he lets them stand at ease, the recruits console him with a compliment built from all his insults, and he is touched.
