The Platinum Lounge

In this backstage sketch, Alec Baldwin brings Maya Rudolph into a lounge reserved for frequent SNL hosts, only for the doorman to send her away. Steve Martin welcomes Alec over for a drink, apparently delighted that Alec is about to match his hosting record. Their celebration becomes a contest of distractions and switched glasses as Steve tries to slip poison into Alec's drinks. Martin Short keeps appearing as their waiter. After the rivalry erupts into a fight, Steve reveals that Alec has miscounted their appearances. They reconcile, and a surprise visit from Paul McCartney briefly interrupts the lounge's pecking order.
