Kerry Campaign Stop

In a South Florida hotel room a month before the 2004 election, John Kerry orders room service in his formal, wordy way and fishes for praise about his debate performance, while Teresa Heinz Kerry wants voters to adore her and breaks into song. Strategist James Carville storms in to tell them that out-talking George W. Bush proves nothing and that Kerry needs to toughen up and play dirty like a Republican. He tries to drill Kerry on rebutting the flip-flopper label, mocks the windsurfing photo op and Kerry's Pottery Barn line, and describes elaborate revenge schemes against Dick Cheney and Zell Miller. Bill Clinton, supposedly recovering from heart surgery, then wheels in the room service cart in a Hawaiian shirt, admits he is in hurricane-hit Florida to chase women, and repeatedly hits on Teresa in front of her husband. As the advisers leave, Clinton offers Kerry one last lesson from his own career: lose the wife.
