Phone Sex
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Glenn Peterson is sure enough about a piece of TV trivia to wager two hours of phone sex with his friend Mike, then discovers he was wrong. Mike refuses a cash buyout and insists Glenn pay in full, so Glenn adopts a breathy falsetto persona called Peppermint while trying to look busy at his cubicle. The arrangement keeps colliding with office life: his stern boss rings the line at the wrong moment, coworkers start eavesdropping, and Glenn's improvised hotline attracts a second, very satisfied caller who wants Peppermint too. By the time the boss catches him mid-performance and fires him, Glenn has fully committed to the role and leaves with his dignity, as he sees it, intact.
