The premise

Here’s the bit.

In a promo for the daytime court show Judge Jessie, the slick, self-assured judge scolds a man who accepted a pet snake, brought it home and now wants someone else to pay for his ruined carpet. A dramatic montage then lays out the résumé behind Jessie's authority: beat cop, trial lawyer, martial-arts black belt, carpenter, surgeon, street hustler and, finally, the announcer narrating the promo itself. In the upcoming case, a plaintiff named Mr. Simmons hurt his back at a karate school, and before anyone can testify Jessie draws on every one of those careers at once: he critiques the police work and the legal strategy, faults the building's construction, scolds the young sensei for letting a student attempt a move beyond his ability and diagnoses the exact herniated disc on sight, then rules for the plaintiff and raises the award on the spot.
