The premise

Here’s the bit.

In a community-hall support circle for people who briefly died, members take turns describing the classic near-death journey: a brightening light, floating upward, a long tunnel, grandparents waiting at the doors and a rush of warm, loving energy. Each account sends James back to his own hospital-bed vision, in which the light gives way to a red-wigged clown who shreds a filthy electric-guitar riff in his face and looms over him in the glare. Asked at last to share, James nervously recycles everyone else's tunnel, grandparents and light, until a fellow member asks whether he saw the clown too. One by one the whole group confesses that they all met the same guitar-playing clown on the other side, and that it has left them terrified of dying.
