Indian Broadcasting Corporation

In a world where the roles are flipped, the Indian Broadcasting Corporation's chairman calls a boardroom meeting to welcome John, its new head of ethnic minority programming. John arrives with a list of grievances: the British community in India is shown only as Morris dancers, tourists and diplomats, its one magazine programme airs at dawn on Sundays, and nobody will commission English films or an all-British comedy show. The Indian executives answer with every patronising cliché about the English, from bland, short films without any dancing to the idea that a posh accent is funny on its own. When John demands real change, the chairman offers a deal: slash his unit's budget, sack most of his staff and banish the department to the provinces, in exchange for a job for life. John happily accepts.
