Synopsis

A perky host introduces a spouse-swap reality show that is going interracial for the first time. Leonard Washington leaves his wife Sharron and son T-Mart to move in with the Jacobsons, while mild-mannered Todd Jacobson heads the other way. Leonard immediately bosses around Katie and her mop-topped son Jeffery, mocks the bland dinner menu and refuses to do dishes, while Todd cooks parsnips for an unimpressed T-Mart and answers his back-talk with a time-out the boy happily enjoys. After catching Jeffery blasting 50 Cent, Leonard drives him into the city and leaves him in the 'hood to meet his people. Bedtime is awkward in both houses: Todd's lovemaking etiquette puzzles Sharron, while Leonard draws the line at certain requests and is startled by Katie's grooming and a buzzing gadget in her room. After a counseling session in which Katie complains about Leonard and he threatens the therapist, the swapped spouses look back on the month in confessionals, sharing what they learned about each other's families, from brown sugar to washcloths, before Todd is caught keeping a souvenir from Sharron's laundry.
