The premise

Here’s the bit.

Charlie, a bespectacled former office temp, boards a London bus with his partner New Guy and launches into the apologetic patter of a commuter appeal: the pair used to be the reigning flirts of their office, have since hit hard times, and would be grateful if any passenger could spare a few minutes for a flirt. They work their way down the aisle offering their services seat by seat, meeting averted eyes and awkward silence while Charlie fusses over New Guy's technique, before thanking everyone for their time and signing off with a solemn blessing.

Ahem. Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry to take up your time. My name is Charlie. This here is the new guy. Now, we used to work as office temps where we were the office flirts. Unfortunately, we've kind of hit the skids a bit and fallen upon rough times. Now, I know you're all very busy, but please, if you could just spare a few minutes of your time for a bit of a flirt, that really would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
