Don't Believe the Hype

Stephen begins an ordinary office interview, but Hugh repeatedly steps out of character to tell the audience how much he loves this particular sketch. His enthusiastic introductions turn each coming line into an event, leaving Stephen to resume the conversation after long, uncomfortable pauses. The interviewee eventually claims that he was murdered on the way there, yet even this absurd revelation struggles to live up to Hugh’s advance praise. By the end, his assessment of the performance is considerably less glowing.
