Escalating Absurdity

We are the Knights Who Say... NI!
We shall say 'ni' again to you if you do not appease us.
You must return here with... a shrubbery!
One that looks nice. And not too expensive.
Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest... with... a herring!
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'ni' at will to old ladies.
We are no longer the Knights Who Say Ni! We are now the Knights Who Say... Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing!

While on their quest for the Holy Grail, King Arthur and Sir Bedevere encounter the dreaded Knights Who Say "Ni!", a fearsome group of knights who wield the power of the word "Ni!" to torment passersby. The knights demand a shrubbery as tribute in exchange for safe passage through the forest — and one that not too expensive. After Arthur and Bedevere return with a shrubbery, the Knights Who Say Ni escalate their demands: they want a second shrubbery arranged alongside the first in a pleasing two-level effect, with a path cut down the middle using a herring. Matters are further complicated when the knights reveal they are rebranding themselves as the Knights Who Say "Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing" and can no longer stand to hear the word "it".
