On Moishe! On Herschel! On Schlo-mo!
Oy, stop, you're embarrassing me!

In this holiday sketch, the Easter Bunny arrives injured after stepping into a trap in the woods during a Passover seder. Hanukkah Harry, the gruff Jewish holiday figure, comes to the rescue with his signature rickety cart pulled by three donkeys named Moishe, Herschel, and Schlomo. Teaming up with an invisible Elijah the Prophet (voiced by Al Franken), Harry delivers Easter baskets filled with eggs, chocolate, and Passover treats like macaroons to Christian children, including a family with members portrayed by Mike Myers and Jan Hooks. Phil Hartman plays a white trash father in a memorable performance where Harry helps resolve a family dispute. The sketch emphasizes interfaith holiday harmony through absurd holiday blending, with Harry maintaining his characteristic Yiddish-inflected persona, kvetching demeanor, and catchphrases like "Oy, stop, you're embarrassing me!" The sketch was produced as a parody of holiday specials, credited to "Hallmark in association with the Jewish Anti-Defamation League."

This was the final original Hanukkah Harry sketch during Jon Lovitz's tenure on SNL (he left at the end of Season 15). The sketch is approximately 9 minutes long. Hanukkah Harry is characterized by his blue and white hat (colors of the Israeli flag), black suit and overcoat, gray beard, and Yiddish accent. The character has become a cultural icon in Jewish-American folklore and was highlighted during SNL's 50th anniversary coverage in 2025.
