A church community gathers to watch their annual Christmas nativity play performed by teenagers and children. What starts as a traditional retelling of the birth of Jesus quickly goes off the rails when a live llama, brought in to add authenticity, becomes increasingly uncooperative and aggressive. The handler Terry insists the llama is calm while it clearly terrorizes the young actors playing Mary, Joseph, and the three wise men. As the llama spits, bites, and chases the cast members around the stage, the teen narrator Carey desperately tries to maintain control and continue the story. The audience watches in horror as what should be a wholesome holiday performance turns into a complete disaster, with cast members fleeing in terror while Terry remains oblivious to the chaos.
