A couple (Beck Bennett and Kate McKinnon) enters a Halloween attraction called "100 Floors of Frights" where an elevator operator (Kenan Thompson) takes them through various traditionally scary scenes. However, on multiple floors (73 out of 100 to be exact), they encounter David S. Pumpkins (Tom Hanks) - a mysterious man in a cheap pumpkin suit accompanied by two dancing skeletons (Bobby Moynihan and Mikey Day). Instead of being frightened, the couple is utterly confused by this original character who insists he is "his own thing" and that the skeletons are "part of it." Despite their repeated questions about who or what David S. Pumpkins is supposed to represent, they never get a satisfying answer. In the end, Pumpkins finally delivers on his promise to scare them by surprising them at the final floor, shouting "Any questions?"
