Wendell Sanders, a lonely and socially awkward comic book fan, calls a pizza place to order multiple pizzas. As he places his order with Carlos, the pizza clerk, Wendell creates an elaborate fantasy story about having friends over and meeting a woman named Claire. Throughout the call, Wendell gets increasingly detailed in his lies, pretending to be hosting a party and having romantic prospects. In reality, he's ordering all the pizzas for himself while sitting alone.
