Fred Armisen plays Gahvin, an audiophile obsessed with vintage recording equipment who has created an elaborate home studio filled with iconic gear. He gives his friend Lance a tour, proudly showing off items like "the original keys used on Pet Sounds," microphones from Electric Ladyland Studios, and a lamp brought in from Detroit. He has an echo chamber covered ironically in sound-absorbing foam and drums that produce what he believes is a perfect sound. The character desperately wants to attract "that one important artist" to record in his studio. In a magical, mythical moment reminiscent of Field of Dreams, Jack White appears through the snowy night to answer his call. The sketch parodies audiophile culture and the fetishization of vintage recording equipment while also celebrating genuine passion for music production.
