Grouch (Joker Parody)

youtube.com

A cinematic parody movie trailer that reimagines Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street as a gritty antihero origin story in the style of Todd Phillips' Joker movie. David Harbour plays Oscar, a sanitation worker who lives in a trash can on Sesame Street and becomes increasingly unhinged and radicalized after years of mistreatment by society and the other Sesame Street residents. The sketch perfectly parodies the dark, disturbing tone of the Joker film, complete with similar cinematography (using some of the same lenses and cameras as the Joker film), while featuring live-action versions of beloved Sesame Street Muppet characters like Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and others who have fallen on hard times. The parody culminates with Oscar dancing down the iconic W167th Street steps from Joker, painting his face green with brown eyebrows, and embracing his identity as "The Grouch."

Damn, Oscar, why you such a grouch, man?
From the studio that brought you Joker and the twisted minds at Sesame Workshop comes the next gritty antihero origin story.
And how does this make you feel?
Grouchy.
When everyone calls you trash, and everyone treats you like trash, why don't you just become trash?
Would you do me one favor... Will you call me The Grouch?
