Carol Beer, a bank clerk played by David Walliams, responds to customer requests by typing into her computer and responding "Computer says no" to even the most reasonable of requests. The sketch satirizes unhelpful customer service staff who rely on computer systems to make decisions that go against common sense, and Carol's deliberately obstinate attitude ultimately ends with her coughing in the customer's face. The character first appeared as a bank worker in Season 1, later appeared as a travel agent at Sun-Searchers in Season 3, and as a hospital receptionist in Little Britain USA.
