Please, Mr Music, will you play?
Soupy twist!
But perhaps, somewhere, you might be inspired to add one small, tender, caring cherry of hope. I wonder. While you decide, I will entreat for the very finalest of last, last times, this entreaty of m'colleague, Britain's very own melody man, as I say to him, please, please, oh:

In the last ever scene from A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Stephen Fry prepares a cocktail called "A Modern Britain" while entreating Hugh Laurie to play the closing theme by saying "Please, Mr Music, will you play?" - a phrase Fry took from the Anglia TV children's show Romper Room. Fry mixes the cocktail while dancing eccentrically and serves it to Laurie and the guest performers (Janine Duvitski and Robert Daws), while Laurie plays piano and imitates the sound of a muted trumpet solo. In this final performance, Robert Daws also plays both the "Last Post" bugle call and Laurie's mimicked horn solo on trumpet. This is the final appearance of their signature closing routine and catchphrase "soupy twist" which they used to end each episode of series 3 and 4.
