After their cleaning lady finds pot in the house, parents (Phil Hartman, Julia Sweeney) hire motivational speaker Matt Foley (Chris Farley) to talk to their teens (David Spade, Christina Applegate) about drugs and their future. Matt Foley, a motivational speaker who lives in a van down by the river, delivers his hilariously ineffective pep talk. The character is known for his wild physical comedy, including Chris Farley's signature moves of adjusting his belt compulsively, gesticulating wildly, leaping around, and ultimately smashing through the coffee table. Despite his intended message being ruined by his bizarre presentation, the family rallies together by the end to make sure Matt Foley doesn't move in with them.
