Focus Group

youtube.com

In a focus group for a new car design, Paul (Zach Kanin) suggests "Bluetooth capabilities" when asked for ideas. An older man (Ruben Rabasa) then offers the bizarre suggestion of "a good steering wheel that doesn't fly off while you're driving." As the focus group continues, the man becomes increasingly jealous when the moderator (Tim Robinson) writes down Paul's ideas, accusing him of being a "teacher's pet." The man repeats his steering wheel suggestion multiple times, along with other absurd ideas like making the car "too small" and "stinky" (complete with a hand wave in front of his nose). The situation escalates as he becomes more aggressive and eventually performs a bottle flip to prove a point. The sketch is a commentary on people trying to be the best at something that doesn't matter at all, while also being jealous of others who they perceive as doing better.
