Theo (played by Dave Foley) is a "groovy" divorced teacher who insists he's the cool teacher. He tries far too hard to relate to his students by breaking down traditional teacher-student boundaries. Theo yells, swears, confides in his class about his personal life including his heroin addiction, attempts to out a gay student, and tries to steal the student's girlfriend Linda.
