In this cold open sketch, the Founding Fathers are gathered to sign the Declaration of Independence when Lin-Manuel Miranda reprises his role as Alexander Hamilton and begins to deliver one of his signature raps. However, President Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) interrupts the scene, causing all the other performers to freeze in tableau while Trump addresses the audience directly. Trump recaps his recent inauguration, discusses the "nerd herd" tech billionaires in attendance, his son Barron, and his wife Melania. Throughout the sketch, Johnson's Trump repeatedly attempts to break Lin-Manuel Miranda by making jokes about him being "tricked into coming" and being "frozen on stage," eventually getting Miranda to crack a smile when he starts chanting "Lindy, Lindy, Lindy." The sketch concludes with the traditional "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" declaration.
